Position: Business Intelligence Functional Analyst – Finance
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Functional Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing our Data Warehouse (DWH) Domain Finance setup by delivering actionable insights derived from data analysis. The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of technical proficiency and financial expertise, capable of bridging the gap between complex data concepts and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, refine, and document functional requirements and wishes for the finance department.
Analysis and Design: Utilize your analytical skills to conduct thorough analysis, design, and refinement of requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Documentation and Communication: Prepare comprehensive analysis documentation, conduct meetings, and deliver presentations to share insights and findings with business stakeholders.
User Story Translation: Translate business wishes and requirements into clear and concise user stories for data engineers, facilitating the development of data solutions.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that delivered data products meet quality standards by collaborating with the team on quality assurance processes.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, fostering effective communication and building strong relationships between finance and the data team.
User Support: Provide support to users during the user acceptance testing phase, addressing any issues and ensuring smooth adoption of data solutions.
Education and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in fields such as TEW, HI, Statistics, or IT.
Additional Skills: Proficiency in PowerBI or other data visualization tools, SQL scripting, BI & data modeling methodologies, Excel, Visio, and Adonis (BPMN2).
Statistical Proficiency: Strong understanding of statistical functions and visualizations.
Experience: Relevant work experience in independently analyzing, describing, and supporting business/information processes within finance.

Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and working capital management.
Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills coupled with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to Detail: Punctual, accurate, and detail-oriented, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
